This is a split CD shared between des Esseintes, one song called Scrying/Closure which is almost thirteen minutes long, and Diskrepant, three songs. During the first four minutes of Scrying/Closure not much happens, industrial sounds looped over and over again with a choir sample in the background. Then they add a rhythm track which turns my interest up a lot and the last four minutes are really intense, albeit a bit too long (which goes for the entire song in my opinion, I think they would have won a lot on making each part a bit shorter). Still this is an interesting, and quite good, track.
I like noise, I really do, but I crave rhythm in it, listening to a distorted sound repeating over and over again doesnt give me much. That is the main problem with the songs from Diskrepant, nothing much happens. Ill admit it doesnt sound the same all the time, they do change frequency from time to time, and the intensity varies. But other than that it is like standing on a factory floor.

I would say that this release is one of the best yet regarding Des Esseintes. The Diskrepant tracks are pretty good too. Good noise... :)
