This is the new eagerly expected solo album by the legendary cEvin Key known from Skinny Puppy, among other bands.
Some of you may have heard the twisted and very weird "Music for Cats" by cEvin Key. "The Ghost of Each Room" is a more structured work and mixes experimental with creative rhythms and twisted electronic soundscapes. You hear odd rhythms built on not only drums, but strange sounds and effects. This somewhat reminds me of Snog and is also very twisted, creative and weird.
In "The 15th Shade" and "A Certain Stuuckey", we get to hear a familiar, very nice voice. Edward Ka-Spel of The Legendary Pink Dots does a very nice guest appearance. In "Frozen Sky", Nivek Ogre does vocals and it truly sounds like heaven! That song is also the greatest on this album and proves that the best things happen when the guys work together!
To sum up, I establish that this is odd, surprising and sometimes strange music with some weird lyrics. An example of that is the line "one of them appears to be copulating with the toothpaste" - haha, wonderful! As you have guessed, this doesn't suit everyone, but I'm sure it would be perfect for those who like Download and The Tear Garden.

Compared to the recent release 'The Dragon Experience' (10/10) This release is a lot more experimental and I would say you have to be really in to your IDM for this to sit comfortablly with you. Although it is an outstanding album. A must for any Skinny Puppy fan, even if it's just for the track 'Frozen Sky' featuring Ogre.

It's not Skinny Puppy

I haven't heard anything good from cEvin Key since Download's "The eyes of Stanley Pain" (not counting "Charlie's Family" since it was a re-release). Even though I normally encourage and appreciate progression, I wish cEvin would stop the experimental noodling he's been doing for the last six years and produce something good. I know he can, especially since there is one GREAT song on this album: Frozen Sky. This song alone saves this album from falling flat to the ground.
