This new release from the German body war heroes consists of four new songs, ten remixes of which three are made by other bands: Das Ich, L’ame Immortelle and Beborn Beton. First off, what
surprise me positively are the lyrics. Funker Vogt have always had really ridiculous
lyrics, but this time they seem to have left some of that behind. I would like more German lyrics though.
Compared to the last album "Maschine Zeit", it feels like they have tried to change their sound somewhat. You still hear that it is the band but the music is a lot more like dance music. Faster, harder and Funker Vogt! I think they do it pretty well. One
thing that annoys me is the choir thing they’ve done with the vocals;
I guess they are using reverb to get the effect, but I believe they would
get better off avoiding it. Worth mentioning is the remix by B. Kramm, giving
the song “The Last” a nice Das Ich-feeling.
My overall vibe for this album is quite positive and I thought before "T"
that Funker Vogt was a lost case, but I was wrong.

coldwar (traum-mix) is a nice track, although I haven't heard the original version. Also chekc out the songs Ravenous - Silverray and Fictional - Blue lights
Is this the new Ravenous CD?

Funker really let themselves go with this one. Most of the remixes are great, "The Last" by Das ich and the Beborn Beton remix of Under Deck being my two favorites. It seems that Funker are beginning to suffer from the disease that begins to plague all musical groups as they get older: lack of material. Both Maschine Zeit and "T" suffer from the EXTREME lack of varied material, all songs containing a refrain the same as the last. Of course, after having released so much wonderful music in the past, you can't blame them for writers block.
And finally....I especially enjoyed the Ravenous twist on the new section of the album. It really shows me a more mature side of Funker that I didnt know even existed. My advice: get it. Enjoy it. If you like the "new" Funker Vogt sound, you'll love this Album.
