This is the second album from Martin aka Cryo on Progress Productions. And it's just as good as his first. Actually even better.
“Hidden Aggression” is dark, modern EBM as always with elements of trance and techno, Cryo’s signum. More reverb on the vocals this time, thus making the vocals to blend in better - good.
There's something about Cryo’s sound that makes his music unique. It's very crisp and more concentrated to the top frequencies and treble. It is sometimes tranced but not future poped. It has lots of nice eerie, atmospherical strings on top of an aggressive cold base.
“Hidden Aggression” is varied with different tracks such as more techno oriented EBM (“I Tune In” - a bit of Depeche Mode here) to more trancier stuff (“Weitergehen” - Astral Projection vibes here) to more dreamlike and relaxed songs such as “Forgotten” and “Contract Killer”. And behold! The track “Substance” which will surely blow your socks off! This is presumably one of the greatest EBM tracks I've heard for years. Just in the line of good old classics from Front 242 and FLA. It will probably be a classic as well. It’s one of the most twisted still straight forwarded and rhythmical EBM songs ever made. Parts of it bring back memories to the 97 era where the best, dark twisted Goa trance was made.
The circuit closed again... I will call you by name... We will become one again!
