Debut album for Boston based Industrial rock band Drev. The press release suggests similarity to Sister Machine Gun, Nine Inch Nails and Aphex Twin. Sister Machine Gun I can agree with a little bit but the primary influence is definitely NIN. Sometimes this becomes very obvious like in "Benign" where the structure of the song is more or less copied from Trent Reznors successful recipe.

There are definitely a couple of really nice tunes in here. The mentioned song "Benign" is very good (perhaps because of the mentioned recipe), "Model" is another one and my favorite is the last track "Rise" which has a synth melody that remind me of the old Canadian band "Numb". Otherwise I don't think there's enough variety on the album. The songs don't mentioned sound like poor copies of the good ones and I also wish that Drev could find their own sound on the next album.
