“Filthy white guy” has been out in stores for a while now, but it’s time to put it under the spot light again since Portion Control appears as the support band on the European Front Line Assembly tour.
As a follow up to the highly rated “Wellcome” (2004) there were much to live up to for these gentlemen, and I think they succeed. “Filthy White Guy” is not as experimental as “Wellcome” was; this is much more dance friendly and got more of traditional electronic body beats. But when Portion Control make a CD with more traditional beats, they do it in the Portion Control way: it makes me think of a classic album like “No Comment” by Front 242, but nothing have ever got this almost perfect combination of ambient, EBM, industrial, great production AND easy accessible before.
Is there anything to claim on this CD? Well, it’s almost too perfect. There is not much to be surprised by; you think you have heard everything on this CD before, just not in this perfect shape.
This is one of the best electronic albums of the decade, and Portion Control confirms what they already told us with “Wellcome”: they are back for real. I’m waiting for the next step forward.

Just discovered this GEM
It's tough intelligent electro at it's best - plenty of aggression with the odd tune threatening to break out - i've since snapped up wellcome and SLUG
which are brilliant also...
Good stuff

Excellent first half. After "Hey Hey" it slows down and loses variation and brilliance.
i don't know about 10...

it's a great album, but there have been a few great albums in the last 10 years too, Kill Memory Crash's 2005 album "America Automatic" is right in line with Filthy White Guy.
great product

i love filthy white guy - it's a massive, complex piece of electronic music
dark, broody but ultimately uplifting
so much stuff is predictable nowadays this is a breath of fresh air...
I totally agree with AMC..

This must be the strangest review I have ever read.. You give this thin un-original album 10/10 comend it for being the best electroniv album of the decade without any afterthought? It´s not bad, but 10? And the best of the decade, cmon either you havent heard much lately (which tha apparent lack of reviews here hints us) or you´ve really lost perspective!
