Modern ebm is growing increasingly tired. Since Hocico the sound has been copied and refined by a number of labels and artists, usually centered around a bunch of sequenced and gated synthesizers and a vocalist who’s really angry at God and a western society that's morally corrupt and suffering from civic degeneracy. Yada yada yada.
I’m not going to say that FGFC820’s debut album, preceded by the “Hanging Garden EP” is brilliantly innovative, with a brand new outlook and sound that’s going to blow everyone away. It won’t. But it’s the first album in a long time to come out of this genre that actually makes me feel anything at all.
It’s not surprising that FGFC820 signed to Noitekk. It’s right up their alley, but not quite as monotonous as some of their past releases have been. A few songs especially worth mentioning are “Martyrdom”, “Existence”, “Comatose” and “Society”. One of the things I like about these songs is that I can actually make out the lyrics, and the songs still make sense. Unlike some bands that seem to be angry with God and society in general, in FGFC820 I sense some insight of culpability. And when music is honest, it can actually mean something apart from being catchy.

What?

I haven´t heard the CD with FGFC820, but I disagree that Noi Tekk/Black Rain is a crap label, they release some seriously kick ass releases like Dawn Of Ashes, Tactical Sekt, Psyclon Nine, it isn´t intelligent music, but it works on a dancefloor!

I will give a listen.

I will give a listen...but that label don't make my expections high. noitekk/balck rain is total crap label, with only bad quality "hellectro" trolls!
